On Monday, there were at least two confirmed tornadoes, with one being a high end EF-1 near Edgewater, Florida, where it destroyed some houses and took the roofs off of others. The other tornado occurred over Lake Apopka, and lasted just a few minutes. Thankfully, no fatalities were reported. There have also been tornadoes reported in Italy, Poland, South Africa and Uruguay over the past week or two, with several fatalities. This late Fall has been a deadly one for tornadoes outside of the United States. The US may actually have the fewest tornadoes in quite some time for 2012, with only 893 tornadoes (10 year average is around 1300) confirmed so far this year.
